Crofton Marine Engine

The Crofton Marine Engine Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in San Diego, California between 1959 and 1961 .

After the Crosley was discontinued in 1952, WB Crofton , an established GMC and Detroit Diesel dealer in San Diego, acquired the rights to the engine and the automobile.

In 1959 the Bug came out, which was modeled after the Crosley Farm-O-Road and had a slightly modified Crosley engine. The bow was a small, four-seater off-road vehicle. Its top controlled four-cylinder in-line engine had a displacement of 721 cc and provided 35 hp (26 kW) at 5200 min -1 . The car had a 1600 mm wheelbase and was 2692 mm long. Its weight was 498 kg and the retail price was US $ 1,350. There was also a pickup version called the Tug .
