from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Towne Shopper was an American automobile brand that was only built in 1948 by the International Motor Car Company in San Diego, California .

description

The small, two-seater runabout had an aluminum body without doors. The trunk was housed in the front and a two-cylinder boxer engine from Onan was installed under the rear cover , which produced an output of 10.6 bhp (7.8 kW) from 636 cm³ displacement. The engine power was passed on to the rear wheels via a manual two-speed gearbox with automatic clutch. The wheelbase of the 2946 mm long vehicle was 1600 mm.

As the name suggests, the Towne Shopper was intended for short shopping trips around town.
