Noel Bangert founded the company in California in 1954 . Los Angeles and Hollywood are given as the seat . The brand name was Bangert . John Treverbaugh took over the designs in 1959 and handed them over to Tom Bednar in 1960. Production ended in 1963.

The Bangert Sports Car was a kit car with a fiberglass body inspired by the contemporary Chevrolet Corvette . The kit was designed for wheelbases from 2438 mm to 2642 mm. Chassis, drive and motor varied depending on customer requirements and the donor vehicle.
Most commonly, was Cadillac - V8 engine with 5424 cc engine capacity used, the 250 bhp (184 kW) at 4,600 min -1 delivered. The kit cost US $ 495.
