Mota (car brand)
Mota was an American automobile brand only built in 1953 by Banning Electric Products Corporation in New York City .
The Mota was a two-door roadster with three seats and a fiberglass body. Its specialty was the drive unit, in which a small, air-cooled gasoline engine drove a generator , from which the electrical energy was passed on to an electric motor , which in turn set the car in motion. The entire drive unit was housed in front of the rear axle, which made the Mota a mid-engine vehicle . The manufacturer stated an acceleration of 0–160 km / h over a distance of only 91 m.
