The company from San Diego , California manufactured automobiles between 1945 and 1947 that were marketed as Bobbi-Kar . In 1947 the company was renamed Dixie Motor Car Corporation due to legal and financial problems and moved to Birmingham, Alabama . The company was founded by SA Williams ; the cars were designed by BF Goodrich . In 1948 the Keller Motors Corporation in Huntsville (Alabama) emerged.

The Bobbi-Kar was a lower middle class car that was available as a sedan and coupe with two doors each and as a three-door station wagon . A side-controlled four - cylinder in - line engine with a displacement of 1064 cm³, which developed an output of 25 bhp (18.4 kW), was used for the drive . In the sedan and station wagon, this engine was installed at the front, and in the coupé at the rear. In either case, it drove the rear wheels.

The bodies were made of GRP . For the Coupé there was a hardtop made of steel and the station wagon had wooden parts on the sides, so it was a "Woody". The suspension worked via rubber-coated torsion bars.
