Old Car Reproductions Inc. was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded on August 30, 1977 in Oak Hill , Florida . A source deviates from New Smyrna Beach , also in Florida. Nancy Shetley and Bruce Thomas were presidents and directors while Philip Jansen was only director. The name Mike Shetley is also mentioned. In 1979 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Old Car Reproductions , possibly just Old Car . According to one source, production ended in 1979, while a second source gives a flat-rate 1970s and another source no year. After December 16, 1981 nothing is known anymore.

One model was the Daytona Bird , designed by Ralph Noody. This was a replica of a Ford Thunderbird built between 1955 and 1957. The body was made of plastic . The original price of 20,000 US dollars at the time was roughly the value of a used original.

There were also the models Eagle and Moodymobile . One of them was a replica of the AC Cobra . There is evidence that the Moodymobile was a modified Mercury Capri with a diesel engine .
