Oak Hill is a city in Volusia County in the US state of Florida with 1792 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Oak Hill is on the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway on the east coast of Florida. The city is located about 50 km east of DeLand and about 80 km northeast of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 1792 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 1005 households. The population density was 105.4 inh / km². 83.1% of the population identified themselves as white, 13.9% as African-American , 0.4% as Native American and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 0.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 1.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 40.2% of all households lived in 21.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 62.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.25 people and the average family size was 2.75 people.
18.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 16.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 34.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 52 years. 50.6% of the population were male and 49.4% were female.
The median annual income was $ 46,080, with 15.4% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 97.94% of the population and 2.06% spoke Spanish .

Oak Hill is crossed by US Highway 1 and the Florida East Coast Railway . The nearest airport is Daytona Beach International Airport (around 50 km north).

The crime rate in 2010 was 633 points (US average: 266 points) in the high range. There were six rapes, one robbery, five assaults, 23 break-ins, 45 thefts, seven car thefts and one arson.
