North DeLand is a census-designated place (CDP) in Volusia County in the US state of Florida with 1450 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

North DeLand borders directly on the city of DeLand to the south and is approximately 50 km north of Orlando . The CDP is affected by the US Highways 17 and 92 ( SR 15 and 600 ).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1450 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 641 households. The population density was 1035.7 inh / km². 90.3% of the population identified themselves as whites, 3.0% as African American , 1.0% as Indians and 1.0% as Asian Americans . 3.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 13.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 33.1% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 30.6% of all households. 63.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.13.

27.5% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 22.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 49.3% of the population were male and 50.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 45,449, with 20.5% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 94.96% of the population and Spanish spoke 5.04%.
