Flagler Beach is a city in the Counties Flagler and Volusia in the US state of Florida with 4484 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Flagler Beach is on the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic . The city borders Beverly Beach , is about 10 km east of Bunnell and about 100 km south of Jacksonville .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 4484 inhabitants were distributed over 3439 households. The population density was 472 inh. / Km². 97.1% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.8% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 0.6% as Asian Americans . 0.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.0% to several ethnic groups. 2.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 44.4% of all households lived in 13.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 54.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.90 people and the average family size was 2.45 people.
11.9% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 42.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 57 years. 48.6% of the population were male and 51.4% were female.
The median annual income was $ 44,292, with 8.9% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.10% of the population, 2.45% spoke Spanish and 2.45% spoke German .
