Lake Helen is a city in Volusia County in the US state of Florida with 2,624 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lake Helen is directly adjacent to DeLand to the west and is about 40 km north of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 2624 inhabitants were distributed among 1154 households. The population density was 228.2 inh / km². 87.1% of the population identified themselves as whites , 9.1% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 0.3% as Asian Americans . 0.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.1% to several ethnic groups. 4.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 24.6% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 36.5% of all households. 64.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.33 people and the average family size was 2.83 people.
20.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 19.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 48 years. 47.8% of the population were male and 52.2% were female.

In 2000, English was the first language of 98.22% of the population, 1.01% spoke Spanish and 0.77% spoke French .
