Helmstan
Helmstan (* before 838 in England ; † around 850) was bishop of the Diocese of Winchester from 838 until his death.
Helmstan was instrumental in ensuring that Winchester blossomed into an important center of Christian faith in England during his leadership.
His time as bishop fell during the reign of King Æthelwulf , who, as a devout Christian, is said to have spent some time as a monk in Winchester Monastery.
