Helmut Stegmann Prize
The Helmut Stegmann Prize commemorates Helmut Stegmann (1938–1997), the longstanding editor -in- chief of the Munich tz .
In 1999, his family donated an annual prize of 5,000 euros, which "aims to set standards for thoroughly researched journalism that is committed to objectivity and fairness and upholds the moral principles of democratic journalism". The award winner is the Bavarian Journalists' Association. V. (BJV) , the sponsoring group of the German School of Journalism (DJS) acts as co-sponsor and organizer of the award . The prize is awarded annually exclusively to students from German journalism schools.
