Henry Klumpenhouwer
Henry James Klumpenhouwer is a Canadian musicologist .
Life
Klumpenhouwer studied music at the University of Alberta and Harvard University . From 1991 to 2012 he taught at the University of Alberta. He is a professor of music theory at the Eastman School of Music . From 2007 to 2009 he was editor of the Music Theory Spectrum . In his writings he deals with the analysis of atonal music, the history of music theory and the methodology of music analysis. With his teacher David Lewin , he developed the Klumpenhouwer network , a system for connecting different tone classes .
