Henschel Hs 298

The Henschel Hs 298 was a projected German fighter missile , known today as an air-to-air missile , during World War II.

On the basis of the previous developments of guided missiles, such as. B. the Henschel Hs 293 , the Hs 298 was developed as a guided air combat missile. The rocket was propelled by a solid rocket motor. The control takes place with the radio set FuG 206 / FuG 232 via radio command control with a maximum range of 1.5 km. Due to the short range, especially compared to the Kramer X-4 , the project was abandoned in early 1945.
