Here in My Heart is a song by the American composers Pat Genaro , Lou Levinson and Bill Borrelli from 1952. When it was released, several artists made recordings.

The most successful version is that of Al Martino , who reached number 1 on the best sellers in stores charts in the United States for two weeks in June and July 1952 . On November 14, 1952, Martino was named the first number one in the history of the British charts . He stayed at the top there for nine weeks. Martino later recorded a less successful version as a rock ballad for the MGM's Cub record company . Another new addition of the title reached number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961 .

Other recordings are by Vic Damone and Tony Bennett . Damone reached number 8 in the US charts, Bennett number 15. Wini Brown and her Boy Friends played a rhythm and blues version in 1952 . Larry Day recorded together with the orchestra Frank Cordell on June 24, 1952 in London a version of the song, which appeared on His Master's Voice . Semprini used the title for the medley Dancing to the piano (No. 18) - Part 1 , which was also released on November 11, 1952 by His Master's Voice. In 1963 Richard Harris sang the title in the film Alluring Laurel ( This Sporting Life ).
