Lords of Harfenberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lords of Harfenberg were a medieval noble family named after their ancestral seat, the Harfenburg .

The first known Harfenberger is Bligger von Harfenberg († 1228), a son of the minstrel Bligger von Steinach from the family of the Lords von Steinach . The minstrel adopted the harp as a coat of arms, his son is considered to be the builder of the harp castle . The line split under the sons of Bligger von Harfenberg: Conrad, called Berenbrunner, became the father of the later Harfenbergers. Another son founded the von Hirschhorn family . Among the children of Conrad (Berenbrunner) a Conrad (exp. 1270) and a Bligger (exp. 1261–70) were named as nobiles de Harfenberg . The last Harfenberger was again called Conrad, he was called again in 1326.
