Herrenwaldstadion

The Herrenwaldstadion is the home stadium of TSV Eintracht Stadtallendorf in Stadtallendorf in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district . It is centrally located at Heinz-Lang-Park and offers 4600 standing and 400 seats.

Construction and opening

Construction work began in 1965. The inauguration of the sports facility took place on June 3, 1967. The new building comprised the main playing field with a 400 m running track, grandstand building, side stands with standing room, athletics facilities, changing rooms and sanitary facilities.

Originally an opening match between KSV Hessen Kassel and FC Bayern Munich (FCB) was supposed to take place. However, FCB canceled at short notice and Rot-Weiss Essen stepped in. The FCB caught up with the friendly game on August 7, 1968 and won against a district selection 4-0.
