The Herz Jesu Church is a church in Rummenohl , a district of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

The church, named after the Sacred Heart of Jesus , was consecrated in 1921. The church was the main church of the parish for many years, until the population center of the parish shifted after the end of the Second World War due to the development of residential buildings. The Herz-Jesu-Kirche was a diaspora church that was responsible for the area up to Schalksmühle in the north-west of the Sauerland.

After the Dahler Heilig-Geist-Kirche was built in 1954 , it became the headquarters of the parish seven years later. Around 1960 the windows of the Sacred Heart Church were redesigned. Today it belongs to the parish of Christ the King in Hagen- Dahl . The church is subject to the diocese of Essen . In 2009, a license agreement was negotiated for the adjacent Don Bosco youth education center, the center of the German Scouting Society St. Georg (DPSG) in the diocese of Essen. In the same year the church was renovated with the help of scouts from the DPSG.
