Duke of Narbonne-Lara

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The title Duke of Narbonne-Lara was a short-lived nobility title that was only created in 1780 and already expired in 1834 with the second Duke. The first Duke comes from the family of the former Vice Counts of Narbonne from the House of Manrique de Lara , which explains the family name.

The best-known family member is Françoise de Châlus , the wife of the later (1780) duke and mistress of the French king Louis XV since 1749 . It is therefore more than possible that the king was the actual father of their two sons, born in 1750 and 1755.
