Landgoed het Haveke

The Landgoed het Haveke in the middle of the village of Eefde in the Dutch province of Gelderland , between Deventer and Arnhem, is a large manor house , last renovated in 1860 , which is surrounded by a 16 hectare English landscaped park with forest and manicured lawns. The several kilometers of walking paths through the park can be walked freely during the day.

Historical

The Landgoed het Haveke was first mentioned in 1481 when "Herman ter Havick" gave it to his wife for their wedding.

Around the year 1860 the old building was demolished and the "Het Haveke" rebuilt and it was used as a summer house. After various renovations, it became the property of the Count von Rechteren-Limpurg-Speckfeld family in 1948. The von Wedel-Kannenberg family inherited it a few years ago.

today

Concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events are held regularly in parts of the house. The park surrounding the house (laid out according to plans by landscape architect Leonard Anthony Springer ) is a natural monument. Due to its cultural and historical importance as a Rijksmonument , the entire complex is under special monument protection.
