Heterogeneous Database System

A heterogeneous database management system ( HDBMS for short ) is an automated (or partially automated) system for combining heterogeneous, diverse databases in order to offer the user a single standardized query interface.

This is not a question of distributed database systems, but the combination of different DBMS .

It can happen that different DBMS go different ways to store the same data, e.g. B. the encoding of the column names.

It is also difficult to find a common query system for object-oriented and relational databases.
