Heterogeneous Database System
A heterogeneous database management system ( HDBMS for short ) is an automated (or partially automated) system for combining heterogeneous, diverse databases in order to offer the user a single standardized query interface.
This is not a question of distributed database systems, but the combination of different DBMS .

- Access logs
- Inquiry languages
Differences in the data model
It can happen that different DBMS go different ways to store the same data, e.g. B. the encoding of the column names.
It is also difficult to find a common query system for object-oriented and relational databases.
