Hey, Sister (orig. Les Sisters ) is a French comic book series that has been released since 2008 and was created by Christophe Cazenove and William . The ninth volume was released in France in February 2015.

"Hey, Sister" is published by Bamboo in France. The series is published in German by Tokyopop .

action

The comic is mainly about the two sisters Wendy and Marine. It is often shown how they solve problems or even cause them. Every story in itself is a one-page consisting of either a long joke or just a big picture.

Marine often takes Wendy's things without being asked, which makes her quite upset. One of her favorite destinations is Wendy's diary. Marine also cannot pronounce complicated words correctly; for example, instead of "veterinarian" she says "fat lady". The parents' faces are never shown; they can either be seen from behind or shaded.

main characters

  • Wendy: The big sister who is mainly interested in boys and shopping.
  • Marine: The sister four or five years younger than me.
  • Mom and Dad: Wendy's and Marine parents. The father seems to be a comic artist.
  • Max: Wendy's friend
  • Sammie, Audrey, Emma and Meg: Wendy's friends
  • Loulou and Nat: Marines friends
  • Camille and Anais: Wendy's and Marine's cousins. They have been performing regularly since volume 10.

Use of trademarks

In the comics, real brands are often used; however, these are often not designated or designated differently. In one story, for example, Marine wears a shirt that shows Maggie Simpson and has Playmobil characters . She also likes to eat bread with Nutella , which has been renamed "Nultella" due to copyright. Official comic characters such as Calvin and Hobbes also appear in the background of some comics .

Offshoot

Wendy and Marine often dress up as superheroes and call themselves "W" and "M". There is also a comic series called " The Super Sisters " where they obviously really have super powers. This edition will be published by Tokyopop in January 2017 in German-speaking countries.

Television series

An animated series based on the comic is being produced by Orange Studios and Sony .
