Aids catalog

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The private health insurances ( PKV ) have so-called aids catalogs analogous to the aids directories of the statutory health insurances ( GKV ). A catalog of aids lists all aids that ensure a successful recovery and disease treatment, preventively protect against impending health restrictions or disabilities or compensate for existing disabilities.

A distinction is made between open and closed catalogs in the aid catalogs of the PKV. Closed aids catalogs contain a list of aids / categories, whereas open aids catalogs contain free formulations. Thus, an open aids catalog offers more freedom in the choice of aids.

Tools

Examples of aids are visual and hearing aids, prostheses, pacemakers, blood pressure monitors, wheelchairs and orthopedic aids.

restrictions

Depending on the PKV tariff, aids catalogs can also contain restrictions. With closed catalogs of aids, certain areas are often excluded - the area of visual aids is often affected. There may also be restrictions in the case of open catalogs of aids - for example with regard to the level of costs or the restriction to "simple execution".
