The posterior column ( Columna posterior , Pl. Columnae posteriores ) is the back ( dorsal ) part of the gray matter of the spinal cord , which can be seen in the spinal cord cross section as the posterior horn . It essentially contains the neurons of the ascending (ascending), sensitive nerve tracts of the spinal cord.
