architecture

The original Hirschwirtscheuer building was erected as a residential house with a barn in 1760 by the Hohenlohe court mason Johann Georg Scharpf and was located in the immediate vicinity of the Sommer family's workshop on Schlossplatz. Today this historic building, which was only in a dilapidated condition until 1986, no longer stands. In 1988/89 the new museum building was erected on the historical cellar vault according to old plans.
