Historical association for Dortmund and the county of Mark
The Historical Association for Dortmund and the Grafschaft Mark is a historical association based in Dortmund . It was founded in 1872. It has 586 members (as of December 31, 2004).
The historical association supports scientific and popular science projects, for example the publication of the city history newspaper "Heimat Dortmund". Under the leadership of long-time (1985–2000) chairman Helmut Philippi (1929–2000), lectures, excursions and urban history projects met with a broad response from the citizens.
His publications include the yearbook Contributions to the History of Dortmund and the Grafschaft Mark since 1872 and the magazine Heimat Dortmund since 1986.
