Most Holy Trinity (Garliava)
The Holy Trinity Church Garliava (lit. Garliavos Švč. Trejybės bažnyčia ) is a Catholic classicist church. It is located in Garliava , Kaunas district , Lithuania on the Kaunas - Marijampolė road .
history
Around 1797 a church was built in Jonučiai (2 km northwest of Garliava) and a parish was founded. There was Jonučiai commune cemetery there . Juozas Godlevskis, sovereign of Aukštoji Freda , built today's walled church on his land in 1809. In 1823 Čiževskis, Bishop of Seinai , consecrated the church. After 1882 the church was expanded on the initiative of Pastor Petras Buzdeika. Two chapels were walled up. In 1905 the community library was built and in 1907 the "Žiburio" school for girls.
