In Nordic mythology, Hnitbjörg is the hiding place in which the frost giant Suttung spent the skalding . His daughter Gunnlöð should take over the guarding of the mead.

Odin , with the help of Suttung's brother Baugi , bored a hole in the mountain and thus gained access to the drink.
