The Hobbs Observatory is an observatory in Eau Claire County , Wisconsin .

It is owned and operated by the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire . Furthermore, the Hobbs observatory is the seat of the "Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society" (Chippewa Valley Astronomy Society). It is located in Beaver Creek Reserve , approximately 4 miles north of Fall Creek . The Hobbs Observatory was named after the Hobbs Foundation , a local, nonprofit organization. The Hobbs Foundation provided funding for the original construction and purchase of the Navy Telescope in 1978. Furthermore, a 24- was inches - Telescopic purchased.
