High altar (St. Michael, Schwäbisch Hall)
The high altar in St. Michael in Schwäbisch Hall shows the passion and resurrection of Jesus. It was created around 1460 and restored by Peter Martin Lamberty in Stuttgart in 1860 .

Upper wing
Ecclesia and synagogues are depicted on the upper wings.
Double wing
On the inside of the double wing, Ecce homo , the washing of hands by Pontius Pilate , resurrection and the journey to hell are depicted. On the outside of the double wings, the four church fathers are shown, the bishops Augustine and Ambrosius as well as Cardinal Hieronymus and Pope Gregory. "The wing pictures in the guys are reminiscent of Dierick Bouts ".
Figure groups
The altar shrine shows various groups of carved figures. On the left is the group of figures that represent the carrying of the cross. In the middle, towering higher, the crucifixion is symbolized. On the right the group showing the Descent from the Cross. In front of it there is always a group with Mary at the center. Veronica is also shown carrying the cross.
Predella
On the predella are painted in the middle Christ with the cup of communion, on the left the Saints Michael, John the Baptist, George, Peter; the symbols of the four Gospels are shown on the right.
