Hochfellnseilbahn
The Hochfellnseilbahn is a cable car with two sections on the Hochfelln in Bavaria . Starting in mountains , the aerial tramway overcomes a difference in altitude of 1060 meters. It was built between 1969 and 1970 and is the second longest cable car in Germany after the Nebelhornbahn in Oberstdorf. The operator is the Hochfellnseilbahn GmbH & Co.KG.
First section
The first section is 3410 meters long. With a maximum gradient of 49.4%, it overcomes a height difference of 490 meters. The largest span of the runway, which is laid on three columns 30, 50 and 60 meters high, is 1840 meters. The two carrying ropes have a diameter of 45 mm, the pull rope of 27 mm. It is driven by a 770 hp engine. The capacity of the cabins, which can reach a maximum speed of 36 km / h, is 70 people.
Second section
The second section has a length of 1430 meters. With a maximum gradient of 70.5%, it overcomes an altitude difference of 570 meters. The largest span of the runway, which is laid on a 35-meter-high column, is 1266 meters. The two carrying ropes have a diameter of 37 mm, the pull rope is 26 mm. It is driven by a 515 hp motor. The capacity of the cabins, which can reach a maximum speed of 36 km / h, is 40 people.
