High frequency bucket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term bucket (English for bucket ) referred to with high frequency working particle accelerators , a traveling position along the electromagnetic wave to which a Bunch ( particle bunch ) can be transported continuously.

The particles in the bucket are subject to a longitudinal focus and therefore remain together as an ensemble, even if they are accelerated. At other points on the wave, the particles are partially decelerated and usually diverge.
