The Hochkreuz Ehrenfriedhof is located in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) on Peter-Nonnenmühlen-Allee and Stakelberg. The cross, built in 1934, was entered in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach on September 7, 1995 under the number P 013 .

location

The cross stands in a central position within a roundabout in the cemetery of honor in the main cemetery, which was laid out around 1920 for the fallen soldiers of the First World War .

architecture

The 18-meter high cross was erected as a steel cross on a rectangular, altar-like brick base with a covering Ruhr sandstone plate. Engraved on the plate: “A. Stief, Arch. BDA ”On the back of the base, donor inscription:“ FOR ALL ”and“ Dedicated by the Mönchengladbach District Warrior Association ”.
