The Dali University ( Chinese 大理 学院 , Dali Xueyuan ) is a university in the city of Dali in the Dali Autonomous District of the Bai .
In 2009, 15,787 students were enrolled, including 3,100 from other Chinese provinces. More than 500 foreign students from some European countries study in Dali. Dali University employs 1,237 people, 831 of whom are teachers. The campus has an area of 150 hectares. The main building is located near the historic old town , another location in the new town of Xiaguan .
history
By decision of the State Council, the Dali Medical University and the Dali Pedagogical University were founded in 1978 to improve the situation for ethnic minorities in the areas of medicine and education in a region near the border. In August 1987, the medical college received the right to a bachelor's degree. In October 2001 the Ministry of Education decided to merge the Medical University and the Pedagogical University. In addition, the Dali branch of the Yunnan Province Radio and Television College and the Dali Polytechnic University have joined. These four institutions together formed the new Dali University.
