Hocus-pocus trick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In football , the hocus-pocus trick is a trick that is supposed to confuse the opposing player. This should be deceived about the direction of the ball-bearing player to take, with the aim of circumventing him in a 1: 1 situation.

procedure

The ball-carrying player puts one foot in front of the ball-carrying foot. Then the ball is passed behind the body with the ball-bearing foot. With the inclination of the upper body, the ball carrier indicates that he will move in the same direction as the ball. The opponent should believe that the ball carrier will move in this direction. Ideally, the opponent shifts his focus. The foot is then guided around the ball by the ball carrier, bent and the ball carrier pushes the ball abruptly in the other direction. He then passes the opponent in the new direction he has taken.

The correct execution of this feint requires very good coordination and high speed . Because of the risk of losing the ball, it should only be used deep in the opponent's half.

application

The Brazilian internationals Ronaldinho , Ronaldo and Neymar have mastered this technique, as is the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo .
