Holger Mantey

Holger Mantey is a German pianist .

Numerous concert appearances have taken him to stages and festivals at home and abroad, including New Delhi, Bangalore, Bombay, Poggibonce, Valladolid, Perugia, Lisbon, St. Petersburg, Vilnius, Ankara, Izmir. The pianist made radio and television recordings for HR, WDR, NDR, 3SAT, BR, DLF, SR, MDR, RBB, Lit.TV, RAI (ital.)

His concert tours have taken him to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Guinea, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, Lithuania, Russia, Senegal, Japan, Spain, Sweden (many concerts in Cooperation with the Goethe-Institut).

  • 1993: ARD contribution to the EBU Jazz Festival in Perugia.
  • 1995: Foundation of the “Duo Total” with the Cologne saxophonist Matthias Schubert. Together with him, Mantey won the 1996 international competition for young art in Düsseldorf.

Mantey has worked with the following musicians: Burhan Öcal, Laurent Dehors, Christopher Dell, Matthias Schubert, Ramamani, TASMani, Ramesh Shotam, etc. So far, 13 CDs have been released under his name, as well as several others in which Holger Mantey was a guest musician. Mantey does workshops, is the author of various sheet music editions and, together with the Hamburg musician and publisher Felix Schell, publishes the EDM (Elements of Music) distance learning. In 1996 he received 2nd prize at the international competition for young art in Düsseldorf.
