Holschuld is a term from the law of obligations and means that the place of performance and success lies with the debtor . The performance actions should take place with him and the performance success should occur. In the case of debt collection, the obligee must collect the performance from the debtor.

If the contracting parties have not regulated otherwise and nothing else is apparent from the circumstances or the nature of the contractual obligation, the debt to collect is the statutory rule under German law . The debt to collect is regulated there in Section 269 (1) BGB .

Information management

In information management, the obligation to collect refers to the responsibility of those who need information to collect it from the owner of the information in a timely, comprehensive and suitable form. At the beginning of a project, it must be clarified for which information there is an obligation to collect and for which there is an obligation to deliver and who is responsible for the transmission of information.
