Wooden church of Călineşti Suzani
The Greek Catholic wooden church of Călineşti Susani ( Biserica de lemn din Călineşti Susani ) consecrated to the Assumption of Mary (Naşterea Maicii Domnului) is one of the wooden churches in the Maramureş in the Călineşti municipality (Hungarian: Somfalu) in the Valea Cosăului valley.
history
The isolated church on a hill above the village was built in 1784. It is protected as a monument under the number MM-II-mA-04538.
Plant and equipment
The church was painted by Nicolae Cepschin in 1788. It is a three-apse church in the style of the churches of the Moldavian monasteries with a polygonal pronaos.
