The wood rent , also known as Feumel in the Saxon - Thuringian region , is a traditional rent for storing split firewood . The storage of split logs until the moisture in the wood has dried off takes 2–3 years. For this you need a good static construction. The round shape of the pile, which narrows towards the top, provides good stability. The wooden shingle roof ensures that rainwater runs off well and thus ensures dry storage. With the usual billet length of around 30 cm, a pile diameter of around 2 meters is recommended.
