HomeAway, Inc. , is a vacation rental broker who claims to have more than one million vacation rentals in 190 countries. The corporation under US law is a subsidiary of Expedia and has 40 websites in 22 languages (as of December 31, 2014). The company advertises with a global selection of different accommodations - cabins, private apartments and houses, from farms to villas and castles of various hotels for families and groups.
The German offshoot is called FeWo-direkt.de .
history
In 2005 HomeAway began taking over various providers, whose offers and websites the company centralized while retaining the domains. Since then, user-friendliness has steadily decreased, especially for landlords, and is now far behind on Trustpilot with a TrustScore of 0.4 in the last place in the "Travel & Vacation" category.
