Hoosier Hurricane in Indiana Beach ( Monticello , Indiana , USA ) was a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Custom Coasters International , which opened on May 27, 1994. It belonged to the category of hybrid wooden roller coasters, which means that the rails were made of wood, but the supports were made of steel. For Custom Coasters International this was the first hybrid wooden roller coaster and the third roller coaster in general. When it opened, it was the park's longest wooden roller coaster and the first wooden roller coaster in Indiana in 50 years. At the end of 2019, it was closed along with the rest of the park.

The 881 m long route was built on the shores of Lake Shafer and reached a height of 24 m. The top speed was 82 km / h. For a short section of the route (the S-curve before the descent), Hoosier Hurricane shared the supports with the Cornball Express roller coaster .

Trains

Hoosier Hurricane owned two Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters trains with six cars each. Four people (three rows of two people) could sit in each car. Safety belts and simply locking lap bars were used as restraint systems.
