The Hot 100 Singles Sales (also known as Singles Sales ) is a US hit parade published weekly by Billboard Magazine . The single sales are pure sales charts of a single and together with the Hot 100 Airplay and the Hot Digital songs form the positions of the respective titles in the Billboard Hot 100 .

Elton John holds 3.4 million units of his single Candle in the Wind 1997 / Something about the Way You Look Tonight in the week ending October 11, 1997, the record for the best-selling singles within a week.

The band Bright Eyes was the last band so far to have two songs at number 1 within two weeks. These were the 2004 singles Lua and Take It Easy (Love Nothing) .
