A hoof pick or hoof clearer is a tool used to care for a horse's hoof ; the hoof scraper can be used to remove stones and other foreign bodies from the sole of the hoof. It consists of a handle, usually made of wood, plastic or metal, to which a metal hook is attached. On some hoof scratches, a brush is attached opposite the metal hook, which is also used to clean the hoof sole.
