Hugh Hewitt (born February 22, 1956 in Warren , Ohio ) is an American author, lawyer and conservative journalist. His talk radio show , The Hugh Hewitt Show , is produced by evangelical Salem Media Group and is broadcast on a number of radio stations across the US.

Life

Hugh Hewitt graduated from Harvard University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1978. He majored in Government at Harvard. In 1983 he graduated from the University of Michigan Law School as a Juris Doctor with a grade magna cum laude .

Hugh Hewitt worked for President Ronald Reagan's administration for over five years . He is a professor at the private Chapman University .

Journalism and talk radio

Hugh Hewitt has been a Washington Examiner columnist since 2009. Since July 2000 he has hosted the daily talk radio show The Hugh Hewitt Show . In the summer of 1996, he hosted the PBS series Searching For God in America , where he interviewed leading religious figures. These included Chuck Colson , the Dalai Lama, and Thomas Keating .
