Hurriganes
Hurriganes are a Finnish rock band . The name alludes to the American band Johnny and the Hurricanes .
history
The band was formed in 1971. The first line-up consisted of Remu Aaltonen (* 1948, vocals, drums), Cisse Häkkinen (1951-90, bass), Ile Kallio (* 1955, guitar). In the spring of 1972 Kallio temporarily left the band and was replaced by Albert Järvinen (1950-91).
During the 1970s and 1980s the band was very popular in Finland and Estonia . The 1974 album Roadrunner was the band's first major success. Named the album after hit single was Road Runner by Bo Diddley . In 1975 Järvinen left the band and Kallio came back. A new album followed practically every year until 1984. After that, it was not until 1988 that another album was released. Bassist Cisse Häkkinen died in 1990, Albert Järvinen in 1991, who had been back in 1979-81 and on the 1988 album. In 1996 the album Live In Stockholm was released in 1977 , and since 1998 the band has been active again with Remu Aaltonen and new musicians.
In 1976 a film about the band was released under the title Kuumat Kundit ( The Hot Guys ), most of the tracks on the soundtrack appeared on the album Hot Wheels . In 2007 a film biography about the band was shot under the title Ganes . It played Eero Milonoff Remu Aaltonen, Jussi Nikkilä played Albert Järvinen Olavi Uusivirta Cisse Häkkinen and Timo Tikka Ile Kallio.
