Hvat

Hvat , Croat . and Serbian name for the fathom , a measure of length that Maria Theresa standardized and introduced as obligatory for the kingdoms of Austria, Hungary and Bohemia (but was not followed) in 1756. Viennese fathoms around 1780:

  • 1 Hvat = 1.896 meters (1.896484 meters)
  • 1 meter = 0.527292 hvata
  • 1 Stopa = 1/6 Hvat = 0.316 meters (0.316081 meters)

In the relationship as a square measure was square fathoms

  • 1 kvadratnih hvati = 3,596 square meters (1/1000 Dan oranja )
  • 1 motika = 200 kvadratnih hvati / square hvati = 719.3304 square meters
  • 1 lanac / chain = 10 motika = 2000 square-hvati = 7193.304 square meters
