The Hverfandi waterfall is temporarily formed in the east of Iceland .
His name means the disappearing in Icelandic . It only forms when the Hálslón reservoir has reached its maximum storage height of 625 m above sea level. This artificial waterfall at the overflow of the reservoir reaches a height of 100 m. Only then does water flow into the original river bed of the Jökulsá á Brú directly below the Kárahnjúkastífla dam. This waterfall can be reached via Austurleið , which becomes from here on .
