Hydroxybutanoic acid
Hydroxybutanoic acid is the name of several chemical compounds from the group of substituted carboxylic acids:
- 2-hydroxybutanoic acid (2-hydroxybutyric acid)
- 3-hydroxybutanoic acid (3-hydroxybutyric acid)
- 4-hydroxybutanoic acid (4-hydroxybutyric acid)
Their salts are known as hydroxybutyrates.
