The IG Magazine was a French-language magazine about video games and game culture. It appeared every two months and was published by the Ankama publishing house, based in Roubaix . The first edition came on the market in March 2009, the last edition at the end of July 2013. A total of 27 regular editions as well as several special issues were published. IG Magazine positioned itself as a high-quality publication from the start and tried to report on games as a cultural medium and advertised with the slogan “l'esprit du jeu video”.

content

The magazine was published in A5 format and contained reviews, reflections on the video game industry in general, extensive articles on "retro" games, and a section called "People" in which certain personalities or studios from the industry were introduced or interviewed. There was also the “Geekzone” section, which mostly contained personal comments and views from the editors as well as comics. IG Magazine was also known for devoting very detailed dossiers to certain game topics, some of which stretched over more than 20 pages.
