The IPAI-32 was a development of the Brazilian IPAI, Escola de Engenharia de Sâo Carlos .

History and construction

The machine was developed at the Escola de Engenharia de Sâo Carlos under the direction of Romeu Corsini . The single-engine shoulder-wing aircraft had double tail girders and a fixed nose wheel landing gear. In the closed cabin there were two seats next to each other, behind them the engine that was supposed to drive a pusher propeller. The fuselage consisted of a welded tubular steel construction, the wings of an aluminum construction that would have been covered with plastic. Ultimately, only a scaled-down model was built for the wind tunnel. The aircraft should have been powered by a 4-cylinder piston engine with 51 kW, which was specially converted by the engineers of the IPAI for the use of alcohol as fuel, but was then not used.
